A Visit to the 2025 European Culture City Chemnitz

A day trip to Chemnitz to see two of the major tourist sites in the European City of Culture. We will visit
the showcase exhibit of the year at the State Museum of Archaeology. The exhibit is called called Silver
Shimmer and Miner’s Death and focuses on the impact of silver mining on the region over the centuries.
After lunch we will ride the tram to the Villa Esche for a 2:30 tour in English of this Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) gem.
Friday, June 6th starting from the Leipzig Hauptbahnhof with a train to Chemnitz at 9:21. We will
meet at Track 23 at 9:00. We will return to the Leipzig Hauptbahnhof at 17:33.
